The Yorkshire Three Peaks
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes in the three highest peaks of Yorkshire
- Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside
(728m), and Ingleborough (723m).
The Three Peaks walk has spawned an annual
Three Peaks Race, in which participants run the route of the Three Peaks.
The Three Peaks Race event is open to those with previous endurance running
experience, and carries a record time of under three hours.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is often seen as a percursor to the
National Three Peaks Challenge - a 24 hour challenge, taking in Ben Nevis, Scafell
Pike and Snowdon.
Ingleborough, one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks
Three Peaks Competitions
As well as the popular Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, the peaks are home to the
annual Three Peaks Race and
Three Peaks Cyclo-cross.
